AKARTA: Hundreds of employees working at Transjakarta Bus Rapid Transit Corridor 1 went on strike on Monday morning to demand the disbursement of Idul Fitri holiday bonuses.
The strike, which started at 5 a.m., ended at around 7 a.m. after PT Jakarta Express Trans (JET) — the route’s operator company — promised to disburse the bonus immediately.
“On Monday afternoon, we will start disbursing the bonuses. Wednesday afternoon will be the latest,” JET director for operation Payaman Manik.
Payaman admitted that the company was having financial problem that resulted in holiday bonus disbursement delay.
Around 400 employees works at Corridor 1, which connects Blok M in South Jakarta and Kota in Central Jakarta.
